Marriott has opened the second Aloft hotel in the Caribbean, the Aloft Ponce in Puerto Rico’s second city.
Aloft Ponce features 152 guest rooms, all equipped with 55-inch flat-screen TVs, luxurious bathroom amenities called Bliss Spa and waterless walk-in showers.
Besides being home to the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the Caribbean, the resort is also home to a signature grazing eatery, Nook, a Mexican restaurant, Orale Orale, a bar, W XYZ and a fitness centre.
Along with the rooftop bar and pool (one of two pools), there is also a rooftop gym.
Victor Vega, the hotel’s General Manager, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome guests to Aloft Ponce, the ideal choice for travellers seeking a lifestyle hotel with bold style at an approachable price point.” The hotel has 5,000 square feet of meeting space.
“The opening of the Aloft Ponce is a sign of the revival of Seorial City as a tourist destination and a very tangible step towards the future of that region and the country,” said Joel Rodrguez, President of JRC Consolidated.
The opening follows last year’s debut of the company’s first Caribbean Aloft, the Aloft San Juan, also in Puerto Rico.
“The opening of the Aloft Ponce marks the beginning of a new era of growth and prosperity for the city of Ponce,” said Abel Misla Villalba, President of Misla Hospitality Group, Operating Group. “The arrival of a new Marriott International property to Ponce repositions the city as an emerging tourist destination in the Caribbean for the next generation of travellers.”
Puerto Rico is currently open for tourism.
