New Zealand Halts Quarantine-Free Travel to Australian State
While New Zealand investigates the source of infection of two cases announced in Sydney, Minister for COVID-19 response Chris Hipkins said that quarantine-free travel to New South Wales has been halted until further notice.
Hipkins said the Australian government would continue to monitor the situation and act accordingly. Cases in the southeastern state were announced within the last two days.
Recall that New Zealand announced it will open a long-anticipated travel bubble with Australia on April 19 as both countries have been successful in stamping out the spread of the coronavirus.
