AmaWaterways is now requiring tourists to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, effective immediately.
The decision was made in response to recent changes in certain European countries that mandate a 10-day quarantine for travelers who aren’t vaccinated. Many countries have put in place procedures to encourage travelers to be vaccinated and, in some cases, prohibit them from accessing certain venues unless they are vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test result valid for 24 hours.
Rudi Schreiner, president and co-founder of AmaWaterways, said vaccination is an important tool in mitigating the health risks associated with COVID-19 globally.
Most travelers already vaccinated
He continued: “The vast majority of our guests are already vaccinated, and they, along with our travel advisor partners, agree that this new policy provides additional protection for all of our guests and crew onboard.
