Marriott has opened the second Tribute Portfolio hotel in Japan.
Near Kawaramachi-Dori, near Kyoto’s main shopping streets, and adjacent to the scenic Kamo River, lies the 203-room Hiyori Chapter Kyoto.
Guests have easy access to the city’s main historical and cultural attractions,, including the Kyoto Imperial Palace, a former palace of the Japanese Emperor, and the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden, which has stunning tree-lined paths, tranquil shrines and lakes.
With the Osaka International Airport just 70 minutes away and JR Kyoto Station only 20 minutes away, the new hotel has easy access to regional and international destinations.
“We are delighted to be opening Hiyori Chapter Kyoto, introducing Tribute Portfolio to one of the most sought-after destinations around the globe. The opening further diversifies our exciting collection of hotels in Japan, offering unique experiences to our discerning guests,” said Jennifer Connell, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, Tribute Portfolio. “Tribute Portfolio seeks out and highlights the true spirit of a destination and creates vibrant social scenes for travelers to enjoy. The new hotel is set to present captivating design and truly authentic experiences tailored to the locale in Kyoto.”
All of the hotel’s rooms and suites are influenced by Japanese tea ceremonies and feature key features of Japanese tea rooms reinterpreted in a modern interpretation to make them functional and comfortable.
The hotel features an all-day dining restaurant, a 24/7 fitness center, and a traditional Japanese public bath with a granite bath and an open-air bath surrounded by lush greenery.
“Kyoto is known for its cultural hotspots that are known to international travelers, but it also has many stories about back alleys, restaurants frequented by locals, and other places not included in guidebooks,” said Satoshi Furuya, General Manager, Hiyori Chapter Kyoto, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. “We look forward to providing an unforgettable experience for the modern traveler seeking local experiences and top-of-the-line customer service at the characterful Hiyori Chapter Kyoto.”
