Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for Real Madrid and currently plays for Juventus, has built a hotel on Madrid’s Gran Via. Pestana CR7 Gran Via Madrid will open its doors on Monday, 7th June. On that date, coronavirus restrictions will be relaxed in Madrid in an attempt to boost the tourism industry and grow the hotel business.
This holiday resort under Pestana’s Lifestyle Hotels brand will be located at Gran Via 29 in Madrid and is the first in that brand’s international network outside of Portugal. After opening successful branches in Lisbon and Madeira, the company is now opening a branch in Madrid. Pestana has already established a hotel in Madrid’s Plaza Mayor.
The new hotel will occupy a building which dates back to 1923 and, after 13 million euros worth of investment, it will have 168 rooms across 10 floors. Two of them will be dedicated to a bar-terrace and solarium with a swimming pool, the company said in a statement.
In addition, Planta 9 CR7, which will be open to the public, will be where you can try all of the hotel’s food. You can have a pizza made by chef Mauro Soggiu, a sports bar where you can play table football or watch a match and you will also be able to go onto the roof and take a look at the city of Madrid.
