After complying with its recommendations and carrying out the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) effectively, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has lifted the suspension placed on Azman Air since March 15th, 2021 because of safety-related issues.
The airline first hinted at this on its social media pages on May 1st. This was confirmed by a top official at the NCAA.
In a recent tweet, Azman Air stated that it is back in operation and will be releasing its schedule soon, urging clients to prepare for scheduled rollout.
It said, “Having successfully executed the Corrective Action Plan as directed by the Regulatory body, we are pleased to inform the public that suspension is lifted. This was confirmed in a meeting held between Azman Air management today, May 1, 2021.
Our underlying goal is safety, and we assure the general public this means the beginning of a new era as we strive to continually raise the bar with regards to the safety of the crew, equipment, and passengers”.
Nuhu Musa, the Director-General of the NCAA, said it was the CAA’s responsibility to guide and work with the airline operators and assist them to ensure their compliance with our regulations.
Mr Azman stated that Azman Air is responding to the corrective action plan that follows the regulator’s audit, stressing that the airline will come out better for it and the NCAA has also learned from the incident and will improve on all perceived shortcomings.
“I must tell you the response from Azman the last couple of times is very encouraging and very positive and they are taking our advice, now they understand and it is even better for them as it will improve their business modem and I have seen a shift. I can guarantee you by the time Azman complies; the public will see a different Azman that is our whole purpose we are not here to kill anybody, we are not here to ruin any airline but to guide them to operate safely, efficiently and provide the necessary services too.”
