If you are traveling from Newcastle Airport and traveling to Turkey, Corendon Airlines has an offer you cannot refuse.
A new low-cost airline has been announced for Newcastle Airport, offering holidaymakers another option for the city’s airport.
Newcastle Airport announced this Thursday that Corendon Airlines is joining the airport, offering customers a ‘seat only’ tariff,, which is poised to appeal to families that are looking for flexibility and value this summer after a lengthy lockdown.
Corendon is described as an award-winning low-cost Turkish airline that will offer flights between Antalya and Dalaman from Summer 2022 – and it says flights will start from just £52.99 one way.
The hope is that the deals will also appeal to those with holiday homes in Turkey who will become regular fliers.
The news from the airline follows the announcement earlier this week that Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will be operating direct flights to Barcelona from Newcastle International Airport between July and October 2021.
A Corendon Airline flight to Antalya and Dalaman for 50,000 passengers will begin in April 2022, with twice-weekly service to the resorts beginning later in the year.
Mine Aslan, the company’s commercial director, said:
“We are very excited to expand our flight network with new routes.
We have continued to see demand increasing to Antalya and Dalaman from the UK, despite the current challenges faced by our industry.”
He added: “There are many Brits with properties in Turkey who want to stay longer than a seven- or 14-night holiday,, and our new schedule now caters for this increasing demand.”
Lee McQuaid, head of aviation development for Newcastle Airport, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Corendon Airlines to the region.”
They are offering a cheap option to Turkey, which is widely regarded as a top holiday destination from the North East. Seat-only flights to Antalya and Dalaman for next summer are on sale through high streets and online travel agents.
Also, the airline plans to extend to Crete and Rhodes.
