As American Airlines continues to welcome its customers back to the skies, it is reopening additional Admirals Club lounges as well as improving amenities such as free Wi-Fi to give customers greater ease while travelling.

Lounges reopening this May include the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Admirals Club at gate B7, the Miami International Airport Admirals Club at gate D15, and the Admirals Club at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The previously reopened lounges at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Nashville International Airport (BNA), and Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will extend their operating schedule to 7 days a week. For the Memorial Day weekend, American will have 27 lounges reopened across 21 U.S. cities. Additionally, lounges that were closed have been reopened at So Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in Brazil and Mexico City International Airport (MEX). Since June 2020, American has reopened lounges with improvements to health and wellness as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also, Starting May 6, American will launch a touchless entry trial in the Admirals Club lounge located in Terminal A at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

Through facial recognition technology, customers will enjoy quick, easy entry to the Admirals Club by pulling out their phones or wallets without fiddling with their membership cards. The technology is currently being trialled at DFW and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and will be made available in the Admirals Lounges in Terminals B, C, and D in the coming weeks. Further trials to test touchless experiences throughout the customer journey will be informed by the results of these tests.

Additionally, customers will be able to order signature food items and beverages using their own mobile devices later this month. Gloved and masked employees will be on hand to serve the orders. The trial will be conducted at the Admirals Club lounge located in Terminal A at DFW.

Admirals Club lounges offer touch-free ways to read the news and magazines. Customers can connect to free Admirals Club Wi-Fi to access the content via QR code or read.aa.com and download the publications for free.
